A Doggy Treat For Your Best Friend

There are all kinds of friendships. A true friend is a rare find and we all cherish the idea of having a good friend. One who understands every time we need a listening ear? Never complains when we go on and on about something. Always there for us and never grumbles no matter how long we need them by our side. A friend will wait for us and always be loyal no matter what the cost. We usual only find a few of these during a life time. When you do it is the best friendship gift ever.
If you are looking for a friend like that, then maybe you should consider getting a dog. After all they are considered man's best friend.
Our pets never really ask us for anything. Maybe a simple belly rub. An old bone to chew on. They require very little. They love us for whom we are and always stand beside us.
Nursing homes and homes for challenged youths are using dogs for therapy. So while it is important to have human friendships, it is also nice to have a doggie friendship.
If your dog is a special friend then you might enjoy making these dog treats.  After all, they deserve a friendship gift.  It is fun to do something special for a friend. They are easy and even your children can get evolved in making them. These make easy and wonderful Christmas gifts for your friends who have dogs. Try varying the recipe to add some of your own ingredients. If you want it to be all organic is sure to use organic peanut butter. Go ahead and try, your best friend will be tail wagging happy.  It is a fun friendship gift for that special dog in your life

Favorite dog treats
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups white flour
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Combine oil, peanut butter and water. Add flour, one cup at a time, forming dough. Knead dough into firm ball and roll to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut out using a dog bone cookie cutter. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes. Or 40 minutes, if you like them extra hard.
Store them in a tight jar and when your friend looks up at you and wags his tail and has big sad eyes, just dig in and give him one of these healthy treats.
